A Halloween Mystery
There is a little mystery in my house that I can't quite figure out. It's just something unusual that has been picking at my brain. I thought I would share this mystery in case by chance someone can figure it out for me.
The other day when I was changing Alex and looking out his window I noticed a purple splatter on it. My first thought was, "Oh dear, what has he gotten into this time." It would not have been the first occurrence of Alex smearing something on his window. We have had a lotion incident as well as a baby powder blow out. I grabbed a cloth to wipe the mess off and came to the realization that the splatter is actually on the outside of his window. This has set my mind in motion and for the life of me I can't figure out what it is or how it got there. Alex's window is on the second story and looks out over the roof of the living room that extends past the house. So if it was someone that had thrown something at the house they would have had to have been in our back yard, on our patio in fact. They also would have had to have thrown this item in a very high arch. My second thought was that it was a bird that had dropped something that had splattered on the window but this doesn't really seem to fit either. Although the splatter is in a downward direction (I watch to many crime dramas) the eve and roof stick out a good distance past the house and it seem almost like it would have needed to have been dropped from under the ledge. This also doesn't cover what the spatter actually is. I mean, purple isn't a very naturally occurring colour. Randall had mentioned a paint ball. Once again this would mean someone would have been in our back yard but it also would have been the worlds smallest paintball.
I'm stumped. I also don't really know how I'm going to get it off the window. I might need to venture up on the roof in order to take the screen off and wipe it down. This leads me to wish we had those lovely new windows that fold into your house in order to clean them easier.
So that is my little Halloween mystery. If you can think of any new options on what could have lead to this unusual mess please let me know.
