A Little Pretty Goes a Long Way

When it comes to cloths, shoes and jewelry I don't think the majority of guys sit up and take notice. I'm sure that if they see an attractive woman walking down the street they don't think to themselves "She has fantastic shoes and an amazing necklace." He might not give those things a second thought but women notice. There is just something about putting on a nice piece of jewelry or a shirt that really compliments you that can give you the confidence to feel so much better about yourself.

For a few years now I haven't really been paying to much attention to the way I dress and I haven't really been wearing any jewelry or nice shoes. This was mostly to do with having kids. Necklaces can get pulled on and broken. Cloths can get spilled on, spit up on or just be covered up by the very big accessory you have hanging on you, your 18 month old. Nose rings can get ripped out of your nose (but that's a different story). For a while there just doesn't seem like much point to those things and I've gotten out of the habit. I haven't even worn my wedding and engagement rings for a few years cause they just plain don't fit.

Recently I decided that I was going to try my hand at a direct sales type home business. I have signed up to be a Latasia consultant and as a result got a big shipment of jewelry that is mine to wear. In this last week or so as I got prepared to leave my house and picked out pretty and sparkly things to wear I have noticed that I have had far more confidence. Though I know that these things don't really change any of the things I don't like about myself and I am still the very same person, I'm walking just a bit taller (well that might have something to do with the pair of heals I've actually busted out).

Confidence is SO important and if putting on something we love will contribute to that then why shouldn't we do it? One of the things I love about Jewelry is it always fits. I don't think anyone has ever said "Does this necklace make my butt look big?" or "Does this bracelet draw attention to my cankles?".

I don't tend to wear makeup very often either and a lot of the time when I did it was on days when I was feeling upset or down about something. I have known for a while that trying to look your best can help you to also feel better but when you get out of practice it can be hard to remember what it did for us.

My challenge for you today is to dust off your favorite accessory. That pretty pair of pumps that make you look longer, that beautiful necklace that minimizes your double chin, that perfect shade of shadow that brings out your eyes. Something that makes you feel good about you! You deserve to feel like the beautiful and unique child of God you are! Remember that he created you and loves you just the way you are!
